Results from the 10th Annual Andrew Claymon Memorial Fishing Tournament
 
The 10th Annual Andrew Claymon Memorial Fishing tournament was held at Merritt Reservoir on Saturday, June 12th with 54 teams consisting of 124 youth and adult participants, competing for prizes in 3 divisions.  The tournament is in memory of 16 year old Andrew Claymon who died of cancer on July 5, 2010.  Results are as follows:
 
Division - 1 adult/1 child 10 years and younger:
 
1st place:  Rebel and Zach Nadolski; total weight of 15.40 lbs.
2nd place:  Benjamin and Cameron Werner; total weight of 9.40 lbs.
3rd place:  Parker and Eric Wackler; total weight of 6.21 lbs.
4th place:  Cam and Seth Brashears; total weight of 6.20 lbs.
 
Division - 1 adult/1 child 11 – 17 years old:
 
1st place:  Brianna and Matt Sharp; total weight of 24.00 lbs.
2nd place: Davis Davenport and Rob Lee; total weight of 15.60 lbs.
3rd place:  Clayton and Brayden Sharp; total weight of 15.00 lbs.
4th place:  Cooper and Mike Leibhart; total weight of 14.40 lbs.
 
Division - 1 adult/2 children 17 years and younger:
 
1st place:  Jackson Thomas, Harper and Greg Wright; total weight of 20.20 lbs.
2nd place:  Jake, Morgan and Dave Ishii; total weight of 14.40 lbs.
3rd place:  Nash, Haley and Doug Hesse; total weight of 13.80 lbs.
4th place:  Jordee, Haley and Billy Yonker; total weight of 11.20 lbs.
 
Heaviest largemouth bass:  Cooper and Mike Leibhart; 5.00 lbs.
Heaviest walleye:  Rebel and Zach Nadolski; 5.60 lbs.
Heaviest northern pike and Overall Heaviest Fish:  Clayton and Brayden Sharp; 12.20 lbs.
 
Trophies, medals, fishing/camping/outdoor merchandise, cash and Scheels gift cards were presented to the Top 4 in each division.  Every youth participant was also recognized and received a fishing medal and a merchandise prize.  Additionally, Fishing is Fun provided rods and reels to each kid who participated.
 
With this being the 10th year that the tournament has been held, 10-year participant awards were presented to Dylan Naslund, Holder Hupfer and Rylan Javins. 
 
Two drawings were held for a free NE Game & Parks youth lifetime hunt/fish combo permits funded by the NE Game & Parks Foundation and Andrew’s aunts and The Tad Wright Family.  Winners of these youth lifetime permits were Luke Coleman and Carter Nansel.  Numerous random drawings were held from all eligible youth participants and included: fishing time with a team member(s) of the four UNL Husker Bass Anglers team who was present, a Wal-Mart gift card, an autographed hat and jersey from professional walleye fisherman Mark Courts and gift certificates to Merritt Trading Post Resort.
